The 52-acre lake simply sets the community apart from all others. In Arizona, water is often considered more valuable than gold and, in this area, that is especially true as County planning and zoning officials have advised that no future lakes will be approved for Mohave County projects due to the diminishing amount of water in the Colorado River and underground aquifers.
Marina Coves, however, has entered into a 101-year lease with the local Fort Mohave Tribe which will provide year-round treated effluent to the lake, allowing the development to bypass governmental approvals and allocations and resulting in what is widely regarded as the last man-made lake that can receive approval in the County.
In furtherance, Marina Coves has built a state-of-the-art, $1,000,000 water treatment facility to provide the effluent necessary to keep not only the lake full but to produce sufficient quantities to provide landscaping and grass that is simply not an option for other residential communities.
